Significant Accomplishments
One notable project entails the entire construction of a 500kV/230kV switchyard and substation. The project involves a multiacre site that is being placed due to the construction of a new power generating station. Henkels & McCoy's scope of work for the project includes:
  • Site project management for construction

  • Fencing installation over 11 acre site (subcontract)

  • Extensive site drainage system

  • Foundations – pads and piers

  • Transformer oil containment system

  • Control and power cable trench system

  • Ground grid system

  • 500kV and 230kV dead-end structures

  • 500kV and 230kV bus structures

- 500kV circuit breakers

- 500kV motor operated switches

- 500kV CCVT’s

- 500kV wave traps

- 500kV/230kV transformers (setting and oil fill by others)

  • 500kV and 230kV aluminum tubular bus with welded connectors

  • 500kV and 230kV bundled wire bus

  • Control house equipment and wiring

  • Yard power and control wiring
